Nightstrider, outline

Dear God, I am SO sorry. It's been literally months since asked me to draw a picture of her OC, Nightstrider.

I did start on her, but a number of complications and my own lethal sense of procrastination stretched it waaaaaaaaay out. I feel like a steaming pile of dinosaur poo because I didn't get it up when I had the chance to a while back. The scanner/printer is always busy now, it's become a 'this is mine, don't touch' possession to my parents for their geneology project.

So I just kind of set it aside and forgot about it until today when ~crossxcut politely reminded me. And then I remembered my dinosaur-age art tablet, the one that's so big and heavy it takes up an entire table, and I hunted down the pieces and wires and cables and booted it up. I redrew it on the computer today. So yay for my first digital art submission!

Anyway, I didn't color it because every time I try to on these damn robots they come out all funkified, and I didn't want to risk it until later when I had more practice on the program.

I remember that, when I sat down and first started sketching Nightstrider, that I was playing around with the idea of layered armor. In truth, Nighstrider does have two sets of armor, and I was trying to protray that. Didn't turn out so well-she ended up looking like a heavy-set decepticon.

-_- I didn't realize until uploading it that I completely forgot the flames and the rims on the wheels. Primus. You can slap me if you want.

On to the actual picture-Nighstrider is the adopted creation of Optimus in ~crossxcut's story. She ends up being a really BIG girl, taller than her mechs. She's equipped with shoulder blasters, (which I ALSO forgot to put in...) and a full set of dangerous claws on hands and feet. Anyway, I made her look a little more sturdier than the 'typical femme' because this one is NOT afraid to dive head first into battle. I get the feel that she's more of a close combat bot, what with her claws and layered armor, so she needs to be built for it.

Also, real quick-one of the things that I absolutely LOVE about this character is her alternate. Instead of a sleek, sporty little thing that most femmes and femme ocs have, Nightstrider transforms into a GMC Jimmy, and she loves to offroad. I just love that about her, makes her unique in my book.

Anyway, so sorry again for the late upload. Once I get the hang of this program, I WILL try to color her, so she'll have her flames and rims done then.
